A little brass dragonfly, built like a wind up toy, flying straight into two soft pink roses. The ground is a rich magenta with strokes of teal and sky showing through, and the dragonfly's wings are washed in gold. This one makes me smile every time I look at it.
This canvas is one of six in the Clockwork Garden set. Start with the one that catches your eye, gather a pair, or collect all six; the complete set is pictured in this listing's photos so you can see the companions waiting for you.
Acrylic on canvas, 6 x 6 inches, 0.75 inch gallery depth. Signed "CRooks" on the side edge, edges painted magenta to match, so no frame is needed. Certificate of Authenticity included.
Painted as companion pieces to my collage book Snip & Story: Clockwork & Curiosity, launching alongside this set. Brass and gears on one side, soft pink blooms on the other, that is the whole story of the book in paint.
Painted by Christine Rooks, Darlyssa Designs, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
