Why I’m Using My Personal YouTube Channel Now

Lately, I’ve been spending a lot of time working on my art YouTube channel, and I’ve really enjoyed focusing on my creative process and building that space. But at the same time, I kept wondering where everything else fits in, the everyday things I use, the routines I rely on, the places Bob and I go, and the simple, daily moments that make up my life.

I’ve also been thinking about how to share those things in a way that makes sense, videos, bits of information, and yes, affiliate links for things I already use and love, without forcing them into my art content where they don’t really belong. My herbs, my apothecary, the mushroom coffee I drink daily, our favorite places to eat, outings with Bob, time with my grandchildren… those things are all part of my life, even if they don’t fit neatly into my art channel.

That’s what led me to start using my personal YouTube channel for lifestyle-style posts. A place where I can share those everyday pieces of life naturally, without overthinking it.

Sharing the Everyday Things I Actually Use

If you know me, you know I love my little apothecary cabinet. Herbs, teas, powders, blends, all the things I reach for daily without thinking twice. These aren’t trends to me. They’re just part of how I live.

I want to share:

  • The herbs I use and why I reach for them

  • The mushroom coffee I genuinely love (and drink every day)

  • Simple routines that help me feel grounded

Not as an expert. Not as a guru. Just as someone sharing what works for me.

Real Life, Including the Grandkids

A big part of my life, and my heart, is my grandchildren.
The laughter, the chaos, the little moments that don’t need to be planned to be meaningful.

Sometimes that looks like a quiet day at home.
Sometimes it’s a boat day.
Sometimes it’s just being present and soaking it all in.

I don’t want to separate “life content” from “real life,” because for me, they’re the same thing.

Food, Favorite Spots & Getting Out of the House (Even When I’d Rather Stay In)

Here’s a little truth about me:
I’m usually the one who’s perfectly happy staying home.

Bob, on the other hand?
He’s the one saying, “Let’s go listen to music,” or “Let’s see what’s going on tonight.”

And most of the time, once I go… I’m glad I did.

So I want to share:

  • Favorite local spots we actually enjoy

  • Casual dinners and little places we find ourselves returning to

  • Those “I didn’t really want to go, but I’m happy I did” moments

No reviews. No pressure. Just real experiences.

Nightlife, But Make It 50+

Yes — we go out at night too.

Not every night. Not because we feel like we have to.
But because life doesn’t stop being interesting just because you get older.

Sometimes it’s live music.
Sometimes it’s supporting an artist friend.
Sometimes it’s just being out in the world instead of always watching it from the couch.

I want to share what that looks like from a 50+ point of view — honest, relaxed, and very real.

This Isn’t a Rebrand. It’s Just Me

This isn’t me abandoning my art.
My art still lives where it belongs, in my studio and on my art channel.

This personal channel is just a place to be human.
To share life.
To document moments.
To connect.

If you enjoy lifestyle content, herbs, food, family moments, and seeing what creative life looks like outside the studio — you’ll probably feel right at home.

And if not? That’s okay too. There’s room for all of it.

Thanks for being here,
for reading,
and for letting me share a little more of real life with you.
